On The Songahm Spirit of Taekwondo (# 6)
When we close our class, we promise to live with perseverance in the spirit of Taekwondo. By this, we mean that we will take the values inherent in our martial discipline with us into the world when we leave the dojang, striving to uphold those values in our daily lives, even when doing so is difficult, uncomfortable, or unpopular. Perseverance means doing one’s best in all circumstances. We are determined to do our best when we are in class and under the watchful eyes of our instructors. But the true test of character is whether we do our best when no one is there to observe us, whether in the
dojang or in our daily lives.
