What Type of Martial Arts Will I be Learning?
Karate, Kung-Fu, Judo... what? At Fusion Martial Arts, we believe the most important component of choosing a martial arts school is not the style taught or how many trophies are in the window, but the level of caring, passion and professionalism that the instructor brings to each class. (By the way, the style we teach is called Taekwondo.) Our instructors are passionate about investing in the lives and training of each of our students, and that level of rapport and passion is the key ingredient to our program.
Do I Need to Have Prior Experience?
Not at all! At Fusion Martial Arts we meet our students where they are at in order to facilitate the best possible learning experience. For most, that means starting with our Quickstart Program where we meet up for a one-on-one evaluation and free introductory lesson. Then our professional staff will help place you or your child in the appropriate level of class.
What are the Health Benefits of Martial Arts?
A regular martial arts practice will provide you with a variety of health benefits including: weight loss, stress reduction, increased energy and flexibility, better muscle tone and core strength, and more!

What Do I Need to Bring to Class?
Simply bring yourself (in workout-suitable clothing), a water bottle and a black belt attitude! We will ensure that you and your family have everything you need before starting your first group class.
What Credentials Do Fusion Instructions Have?
We are very selective about our staff - our professional instructors are required to go through an extensive 3-year apprenticeship program, a background check and CPR certification. They are certified through the American Taekwondo Association (ATA), which is one of the world's largest martial arts organizations.
Will I Have to Fight People?
Absolutely not. Although Taekwondo is a contact sport, our unique curriculum is designed to build self-defense and technical striking skills with fun, energetic and dynamic partner pad drills. Sparring is a safe, integrated part of our curriculum and is by no means full contact. We use a "point" style sparring system to build agility, balance and strategy. This is not only a great workout, it's also incredibly fun. It is taught in a positive and cooperative environment to create a safe and fun experience.
Can I Enter Competitions?
Of course! Tournaments are optional, but are incredibly valuable learning experiences. Our students compete in intramural tournaments, regional and national competitions. Whether a white belt beginner or a seasoned black belt, there are lots of opportunities for friendly competition!
